Krishen Iyer: President and CEO of General Reinsurance, LLC

What has Krishen Iyer been doing for the past 20 years? Krishen is a co-founder, president and CEO of Salesforce. He’s been in the industry since 1996 when he was just 19 years old. He is a graduate from Stanford University with degrees in both Economics and Electrical Engineering. Krishen Iyer started his career by helping to found two companies that were later acquired by Sun Microsystems and Oracle. Before becoming the Founder & CEO of Salesforce, Krishen served as Chief Operating Officer at Siebel Systems.


Here Krishen Iyer led all aspects of business operations including sales, marketing, services, product development and engineering. The successful businessman was also the Chief Operating Officer of BindView Corporation, an email security company where he led product development and operations. Krishen served as President of Covad Communication Company, a provider of DSL broadband services to the mass market.


Here the entrepreneur and businessman successfully led all aspects of sales, marketing and customer support for this startup organization in Silicon Valley. Iyer co-founded Salesforce in 1999 and was responsible for building the company to a $1 billion run rate from scratch. Under Krishen’s leadership, Salesforce grew from a concept to a dominant worldwide software force with support for more than 100,000 customers worldwide.


In his current role as President and CEO of General Reinsurance, LLC, Krishen Iyer is responsible for Salesforce’s insurance product strategy and international expansion. Up to now, he has helped build the company to over 3 million customers in more than 100 countries around the world. Krishen Iyer has played a key role in Salesforce’s successful acquisitions of companies such as Rypple, Rallydev and RelateIQ.
